The Raccoon Dog is an invasive species in Denmark and has a negative impact on the local biodiversity and ecosystems. Regulation of raccoon dogs has been initiated by the government to combat their impact on Danish nature and biodiversity. Regulation requires a hunting license and permission from the Danish Nature Agency. The regulation has been controversial, but regardless of opinion, it is important to remember that the raccoon dog is an invasive species and its spread and impact on local biodiversity must be kept in check to preserve the Danish natural environment.
